“When a guy is happily married, no matter what happens at work, no matter what happens in the rest of the day,” Danny said, “there’s a shelter when you get home, there’s a knowledge, knowing that you can hug somebody without them throwing you down the stairs and saying, ‘Get your hands off me.’ Being married is like having a color television set; you never want to go back to black and white.”

I heard this on NPR’s Story Corps this morning.  Say what you will about the “liberal” media, NPR knows how to produce a good story.  This is a follow-up to Danny and Annie Perasa from 2004.  Danny passed away from pancreatic cancer in 2006, but Annie is alive and sharing the love her and her husband had with the world.  If you feel like shedding a few tears over your Friday coffee this morning, and have them be about something so beautiful as the genuine love between two people, then click on the link below:
